Atari Farms is an agribusiness based in Uganda that transforms locally grown avocados into natural skincare products. In the region where it operates, nearly every household has avocado trees, yet farmers long struggled to find a viable market. The few markets that exist are far away and difficult to reach due to poor roads. As a result, many people began cutting down their avocado trees, even though the trees are essential in the hilly landscape to prevent landslides. Recognizing both the environmental risk and the untapped potential, Atari Farms developed a new use for the avocados by processing them into skincare products. Today, the company not only provides a sustainable outlet for the fruit but also supports smallholder farmers with stable income opportunities, while contributing to environmental preservation and local economic growth.
